Here is what Jorginho need to do to avoid being pushed to Napoli in this Transfer window
Here is what Jorginho need to do to avoid being pushed to Napoli in this Transfer window.
Jorginho will need to take a pay cut to be able to stay at Chelsea and avoid being pushed to Napoli in this most recent transfer window that is about to open.
Jorginho ‘WOULD be keen on a return to Napoli if his contract talks with Chelsea break down’… but the Italian midfielder ‘would have to take a 50 PER CENT pay cut to seal a move to the Serie A’
Should the recent transfer talks with Chelsea break down he will be making a move for the Italian side sooner.
Jorginho would be open to a Napoli return if his contract extension talks with the west London side breakdown in the coming weeks, according to reports.
The Italian’s current deal is set to expire in the summer and – with the club planning a move for Benfica’s Enzo Fernandez – could likely leave Stamford Bridge next year.
His agent has already been exploring potential options for the midfielder and a return to Italy seems to be the favoured choice – should Chelsea not renew his deal.
According to Sky Italy, Chelsea are willing to negotiate a contract extension with the midfielder and only a call from Napoli would make the player reconsider his options.
The Serie A side are yet to make contact with Jorginho, as they believe the player will offer himself to the club – should his negotiations with Chelsea fall through.
However, given Napoli’s current financial struggles, a potential return is still made complicated by the extortionate wage that Jorginho boasts in his Chelsea deal.
Napoli remain under strict financial constraints and the recent departures of Lorenzo Insigne, Kalidou Koulibaly and Dries Mertens demonstrate how their economic accounts are prioritised over squad decisions.
De Laurentiis has taken note of the situation and is aware of the difficulty of the potential transfer – despite Jorginho’s openness to return to Italy.
Though a return to Napoli would be Jorginho’s first-choice – in the case of a Chelsea exit – there remain a number of other routes back to Italy for the midfielder.
