Joy as New structure finally takes control at Chelsea as Todd Boehly finally steps down.
Looks like Chelsea is heading to the right direction now as they are doing everything they can to assure the fans that they are on the right track and Boehly stepping down is a good sign.
Matt Law of The Telegraph has just published an exclusive about Todd Boehly, claiming that the Chelsea owner has stepped down as the club’s interim sporting director.
It’s something that has been coming – and in fact would have happened a lot sooner had the club been able to secure the right appointments to replace him sooner.
But with Christopher Vivell now in place as the technical director, and Paul Winstanley in as director of global talent and transfers, Boehly is finally going to be able to hang up his chequebook – and not a moment too soon, some would say.
This summer’s moves have so far turned out pretty badly, and losing the previous structure just before that window opened looks like a disaster now – although from the outside we can’t tell whether their removal was Boehly’s plan or not.
Let’s just hope we’ve hit the bottom now, and can see a steady rise from here with our new guys in place.
