Chelsea has released their official statement and a lot of promises to the newly signed player and this is unlike what you have heard before.

Every major insider is reporting that he’s on his way to London to complete a medical and sign his contract, with a deal having been agreed between the clubs.

But Chelsea have just now released a statement saying that they are “discussing terms” with Shakhtar Donetsk. You don’t usually hear the club comment on transfers until a player has signed, and even their introduction of a rumours section raised eyebrows some years ago.

This is a real oddity, with the club announcing they’re in talks while everyone else confidents asserts it’s done.
