The money part is not the problem, here is the real reason Mason Mount is having problems with Chelsea contract situation and why it hasn’t been resolved.

Mason Mount have in fact rejected the idea that he is asking for a crazy £300,000 a week.

The idea he’s asking for crazy money has been the foundational argument of those saying he should go this is not about the weekly wages but because of something he considers  more important.

The real reason for this contract stalemate seems to be the length of the deal.

The new ownership want to tie all their players to very long commitments, while Mount is determined to have it end before he’s too old to seek another big deal and this right here is the problem that a lot of people do not know about.

That is tricky – but doesn’t at all rule out a balance being found.
