Luis Enrique eliminated from front runners in Chelsea managerial race; Here are the top Favorites now.
Luis Enrique has been dropped out of the top runners for the managerial position at Chelsea and this is just coming in this morning as the latest news.
So far, since the sacking of Graham Potter and the rapid installation of Frank Lampard as caretaker, the news about who might be our long term replacement has been to do with potential candidates, and in some cases their visits to London.
Now, things will get more serious, and we still start to establish who is emerging as favorite for the job. Until today, you’d have said it was Luis Enrique and Julien Nagelsmann neck and neck at the top of the pile, with a trail of alternatives disappearing behind them.
The news in the Telegraph that Luis Enrique is no longer among the favourites is very interesting, as it’s the first indication of preference we’ve really had. That would leave Nagelsmann out in front as favorite, with Mauricio Pochettino now likely upgraded to second favorite.
The seeming elimination of such a big name also opens the door for some of the lesser lights in the race. There is still a long way to go, but it seems the race has finally begun.
