After the 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest, Lampard opens up about Raheem Sterling; What he said.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard was pleased with two-goal Raheem Sterling after their 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest.
Lampard says the brace is important for the England international.
He stated: “It’s important. Raheem’s a player that has credit in the bank as such. He’s been a regular scorer for his club and country. I’m very happy for him. It’s what we need at the top end of the pitch. If you’re going to win games when you have 76% possession, you need killers on the pitch.
“Good play, results, compete, good pride. That’s what you want to see all of the time. That starts now for Man City.
“The long loopy throw is a difficult one to defend against. They’re a bigger team than us which is a natural thing. The threat of set-pieces, counter-attacks, the players understood that but you have to deal with that.”
