Frank Lampard in his exclusive interview after the maych have ben met with a very strong opposition and he has been asked why he choose to use Mendy ahead of Kepa against Nottingham Forest and he has explained his reasons although he was disappointed.

The Spanish goalkeeper has been first choice since an injury to Mendy way back in the Autumn, but today the Senegal stopper was given a rare chance in the team.

The reality is that Kepa let Lampard down so often in his first spell at the club that it was perhaps inevitable that the Chelsea coach would eventually explore his options, but today it didn’t work out.
