Pochettino was immediately asked about what his “target” was as Chelsea boss, and he was under no illusions that it was all about one thing.
“When you’re at a club like Chelsea, you can’t talk about ‘playing well’ and ‘doing a nice job’,” the coach pointed out.
“You have to win.”
We’re sure this wasn’t meant as a dig at Graham Potter’s endless platitudes to that effect, but it did slightly come off like one. Perhaps he was coached by the media team that this was what the fans wanted to hear at this moment, or perhaps it was natural. Either way, he’s doing a great job pressing the right buttons so far.
