But with the new season just a month away, we look more likely than ever to be sticking with proven liability Kepa Arrizabalaga.

So what happened to our long rumoured interest in Mike Maignan, the AC Milan goalkeeper? CalcioMercato have the whole story.

They claim that the Italian side asked for €100m for their stopper – it’s no wonder we walked away right from the start then.

Maignan looks like an incredible player – even better than Andre Onana, the Inter goalkeeper who we turned our attention to once it became clear that we were never getting close to AC’s man between the sticks.
