Chelsea Move: This Player will today tell his club that he feels disrespected as Chelsea get closer to agreement.
This has become a real saga, but with a transfer deal as big as this one, it was never going to have a quick conclusion.
CBS reporter Ben Jacobs loves a good thread on Twitter, and he has put his latest one out early this morning explaining the latest situation in Chelsea’s attempts to sign Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo.
In a nutshell, it’s positive news for Chelsea as Ben is basically saying that an agreement is getting a little closer, but not there yet.
As you can see in the tweets embedded below, Jacobs also says that Caicedo is going to today tell Brighton that he feels disrespected by them and will reiterate to them to let him go as per the agreement when he signed his new contract.
🚨 Chelsea’s latest verbal offer for Moises Caicedo was £70m guaranteed and it’s understood £5m in add-ons was discussed. It’s been indicated this won’t be accepted, albeit the offer could yet provide a basic framework for a deal.🇪🇨 pic.twitter.com/5yu4qcLwbN

Caicedo camp will now insist on a move reiterating Brighton must keep their word when he signed a new deal and let him leave for what they consider to be a reasonable bid. A total package of £80m is viewed as
more than fair by sources close to Caicedo and #CFC not far off this.— Ben Jacobs (@JacobsBen) July 18, 2023
Brighton still haven’t explicitly told Chelsea they want £100m or more, even though sources have often hinted at this number…

Understand Brighton would be more flexible if Chelsea offered Levi Colwill as part of a deal, but #CFC’s position remains he is not for sale.
