Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino says Brighton are capable of winning the Europa League this season.
The two teams are set to meet in their preseason US fixture.
Pochettino said of Brighton manager Roberto de Zerbi: “An amazing season, a great coach and great guy also, we have a very good relationship. It was fantastic what made Brighton last season, the way that they played and how they achieved their result.
“It’s going to be exciting to meet them. We have good friends like Adam Lallana who we know very well from Southampton. I think it’s going to be good.
“Of course (Brighton can win Europa League). They play so well, they finished above us. They are signing players with experienced players in the squad. I think it’s going to be a tough game. It is pre-season we want to win and perform in our best way but now is the moment to build the team to see young players to play and always better to win but we are trying to evolve.”
