Jon Obi Mikel’s new podcast is going to provide a lot of fun material for us here, and he gives some interesting insight into his thoughts on Victor Osimhen.
Chelsea need a new striker, and Osimhen appears to be near the top of the list. They will have to pay a vast amount to sign him – but will he be worth the £150m or so it would cost? Mikel thinks so. He compared the Nigeria striker to his old friend and teammate, Didier Drogba.
“Victor Osimhen has got the personality and the arrogance. When he walks in, you can tell someone just walked into the room, that’s what Didier Drogba had. He’s pretty close to what Didier was and my advice for him would be to come to Chelsea,” the Champions League winner said.
We don’t want to get ahead of ourselves – for starters there’s no way Osimhen comes to Chelsea unless we’re in the Champions League, which looks very unlikely right now. But we’ve never been in doubt about his quality, and the more ex player we hear from backing that up, the more confident we feel in it.
