Benfica coach opens up about Enzo Fernandez for the last time says player is going nowhere
Benfica coach opens up about Enzo Fernandez for the last time says player is going nowhere amid latest Chelsea interest in the player.
Poor Roger Schmidt, the Benfica coach, has to deal with questions about his star player in every press conference now, and at the moment he’s insistent that Enzo is going nowhere.
“I don’t expect that we lose any of our players who are playing a lot and in the starting XI. That’s why I see very focused players and why I expect that [Fernandez] stays,” the German coach said in his team’s presser today.
Benfica's Roger Schmidt:
"Yes, of course [I'm confident Enzo stays]. When you see Enzo playing at the moment, I see a player who's on his top level, who's very happy to play for the club and I think there is nothing else in the mindset of the player."

As it stands, we don’t see Chelsea paying the €120m, and so Schmidt’s confidence is well placed.
