Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes is the latest European star to be linked with a possible move to Saudi Arabia.

The likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante, Georginio Wijnaldum, Jordan Henderson and many more all left European soccer for the Saudi Pro League in 2023.

Now several Saudi clubs are interested in signing Fernandes in 2024, according to Fichajes.

Those clubs are reportedly willing to offer United around €100 million.

That equates to a little more than £87m, which is £40m more than United paid to Sporting Lisbon to sign Fernandes in January 2020.

Since then, Fernandes has scored 68 goals in 201 games for the Red Devils.

He has netted 47 goals in 135 Premier League matches, while also providing 35 assists.

Fernandes is still under contract at Old Trafford until June 2026, so United are under no pressure to sell.

But the 29-year-old’s market value will likely drop in the coming years as his age rises.

The report by Fichajes does not name any of the clubs that are apparently keen to take Fernandes to Saudi Arabia.

But the most realistic candidates would likely be the four clubs that are owned by the Saudi Public Investment Fund.

The PIF, which also owns Newcastle United, completed takeovers of Al-Ittihad, Al Nassr, Al-Hilal and Al-Ahli in June.

Al-Hilal currently top the Saudi Pro League table after 13 rounds of fixtures. Ronaldo’s Al Nassr are second, while Al-Ahli sit third.

Reigning champions Al-Ittihad, who are captained by former Real Madrid forward Benzema, are fifth.
