Caicedo choosing Chelsea over Liverpool is a pain to lots of people; Here is what Liverpool legend Alan Shearer said
Alan Shearer says the prospect of Chelsea winning the transfer battle for Moises Caicedo is “embarrassing” for Liverpool.
The Reds had an offer for Caicedo accepted by Brighton, but the midfielder made it clear he wants to join Chelsea, which are now closing on signing the Ecuadorian.
Ahead of Liverpool’s visit to Chelsea today, Shearer said on the The Rest Is Football podcast: “It’s pretty embarrassing for Liverpool, if that is the case.
“They’ve agreed a deal for £111m and then, all of a sudden, the player has said ‘No thanks, I don’t fancy coming to you, I’m going to London instead’.
“That is not a good look for Liverpool. You have to do your homework and your due diligence and make sure players want to join before agreeing deals for them.”
