Onana was forced off in the 81st minute of his side’s 3-0 win over Mauritius.

And Song is set to keep the keeper sidelined for the Libya game.

Report from their last game with Mauritius tells that Goals from Bryan Mbeumo, Georges-Kevin N’Koudou and Frank Magri sealed the win over Mauritius, while Onana started in goal for Cameroon.

However, the Manchester United goalkeeper was unable to complete the game as he was forced off in the 81st minute.

Onana dived along the ground to see a shot go past the post but the 27-year-old appeared to injure his adductor muscle as he stretched out his leg.

United’s £47.2 million summer signing stayed on the turf and was treated by two of Cameroon’s medical team for four minutes.

Onana was helped to his feet but was able to walk back to the dugout without any further assistance and was not visibly limping.

Cameroon are due to play Libya on their next World Cup qualifier on Tuesday.

Speaking after the game, England manager Gareth Southgate said: ‘I think he [Rashford] is probably okay.

‘We just thought given the nature of the collision and it was a chance to get Cole [Palmer] into the game.

‘I haven’t assessed too much but I think he was okay when he came off.’

United’s Premier League campaign resumes next Sunday when they play Everton at Goodison Park.
