This had led to the club considering whether to sign a new centre back this summer, with questions marks still hovering over the future of Trevoh Chalobah as well.
But the main deal they are looking to get done ASAP now is Moises Caicedo from Brighton, and as well as the above info, The Daily Mail had the latest on that late last night.
They claim Chelsea are to make an improved bid for Caicedo and are considering adding a new centre-back.

They had a £70million bid rejected for Caicedo on Monday and are working on an £80m offer plus add-ons.
