Palmer, 21, has emerged as one of the most exciting talents in the Premier League this season.

However, it has not all been perfect for Palmer since arriving in West London, as one aspect of driving in the area is annoying him.

He told The Independent: “The most annoying thing? The traffic, that’s the biggest thing for me.

“Everything else I am enjoying. It is hotter than Manchester as well.”

Palmer’s call to the Three Lions came after his stunning performance against his former side on Sunday.

He proved to be a constant threat to the Man City defence and scored a later equaliser from the spot to earn Chelsea a point.

Despite his goal being vital to the result, Palmer remained calm in his celebration as he did not want to “disrespect” his former side.

He added: “I spent 15 years at the club.

“I can’t really go and celebrate how I would celebrate if I have scored a 95th-minute equaliser because it would have been disrespectful.”

Southgate called up Palmer due to the injuries suffered to James Maddison and Jude Bellingham which caused them to withdraw from the squad.

Palmer’s debut for the Three Lions could come against Malta at Wembley on Friday evening.

He could be one of three players to make their first appearance for the senior side as Aston Villa’s Ezri Konsa and City’s Rico Lewis were also called up to the squad.
