Currently back on loan at Lyon after signing a £26.3million deal to leave the French club in January, the full-back was forced off in the first half of Wednesday’s Coupe de France win over Lille.

The 19-year-old appeared visibly disappointed as he held his left leg while departing the game.

Lyon boss Laurent Blanc has confirmed that Gusto’s injury is not necessarily new but his recovery is expected to be quick.

“It’s a pain he’s been feeling for some time,” he said. “It’s not a big problem, but it bothers him physically and it’s on his mind.

“We will try to treat him well. I don’t think it will take too long, but it has to be done.”
