Among these players are notable names whose return to the team saw Chelsea winning matches again and doing well.

This is evident with Raheem sterling as he rejoined and started winning matches for Chelsea again no sooner he joined.

Ahead of the game, the 47-year-old admitted: “We’re in this to compete and the whole point of everything is to win. That’s not to say you can do it all of the time but absolutely it’s better if you win, that’s a fact. I’d be amazed if somebody says ‘no, it’s better when you lose’.

Meanwhile, Mount is still not quite ready to turn while Chelsea are targeting a potential return for Kante against Everton next week.

Aubameyang and Sterling are doubts for the game, Potter confirmed: “Raheem has had a little feeling in his hamstring, tightness if anything, so he’s looking doubtful.

“Aubameyang has a slight problem with his back and he’s looking likely he will miss the game.”
