Confirmed; Frank Lampard makes Chelsea return as temporary caretaker till the end of the season.
Fabrizio Romano is now backing up reports in the Guardian that Lampard is under serious consideration to take over the club temporarily while a long term appointment is chosen.
It’s still not clear whether this is going to be just a matter of days, weeks, or whether it will last until the summer. The fact that top coaches like Julien Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique are available now makes a fast appointment seem possible – but the board may have other people in mind.
Lampard is of course, 100% ready to accept.

It will bring great closure for Lampard who was sacked pretty harshly under the previous ownership despite some great moments, and looks perfectly placed to return as manager and try to lift the mood at the club after some black days.
