Still just 21, Jackson scored 13 La Liga goals in that year in the division, and looking to be improving week after week. He finished the season strong, and it will have been that final flourish that convinced Chelsea to pay his €35m release clause before a new contract made him significantly more expensive.
Jenson says he’s raw but has the potential to be super, and that’s clear from watching just a few clips of him. But there’s a great physicality about him which gives him the air of top strikers of the past like Diego Costa or Didier Drogba.
