Fabrizio Romano has bad news on Mason Mount for Chelsea and the fans will not be happy about this.
Claims in the past have said that there has always been a large gap in demands between the two parties, with Mount reportedly rejecting a similar deal that fellow academy graduate Reece James signed earlier this season.
This has opened up the opportunity for him to leave Stamford Bridge, a possibility which looked impossible this time last year.
Romano has now claimed his latest update says it’s not looking good for him to stay in West London.
He said: “Speaking to some sources today, it is going to be very difficult to extend Mason Mount, really complicated.”
With some at Chelsea reportedly very keen to keep hold of Joao Felix for next season, it’s hard not to read that it could be a case of one or the other at the club, although many supporters will be thinking that they may be choosing the wrong answer.
Speaking on his AMP show, he claimed that after speaking to sources he was left with not much confidence the Blues could find a way to keep their two-time player of the year.
It has been a rough season for everyone at Stamford Bridge, however no one individually more than Mount has struggled to this level.
A combination of injuries and poor form has seen him hardly feature in the second half of this season, following a disappointing World Cup campaign with England in the middle of it.null
This has potentially been the catalyst for reports to begin to spread over whether he has a future with the club he has been at for most of his life up to now.
