We all know that Chelsea is in a very dire need of a striker and Havertz is not doing the job well and this is causing issues for the club and their prime target now is a striker by the Summer.

But what if Aubameyang can step up and start doing well for the team do they till need to buy a striker? Well mostly yes because they need it of course but they may have to still renew his contract and sign another striker to play alongside him instead of selling him off totally.

Now that we have established this, Auba have been given a condition should he want to return to Chelsea starting XI again and be in the full squad.

The 33-year-old was frozen out by Potter and barely featured under his old boss, but it is a clean slate for Aubameyang under Lampard.

Asked about Aubameyang’s potential role, Lampard said: “We’ll see on that one. I don’t want to go position-specific.

“What I do want to say is that the players have to feel that when they train and prepare, that the competitive nature we have in the squad to get in the team needs to be high in every position.

“Auba is a bit like everybody in the squad, whether you’ve been starting before or not starting so much, you have to compete in training and show that you’re worthy of a place.

“And of course his history says he has a fantastic goalscoring record. So we’ll see.”
