Genius: Here is what Chelsea captain Reece James said about Nico Jackson and this will blow you away
Chelsea captain Reece James has rejected the doubters around Nicolas Jackson.
Jackson will lead the line today against Manchester City a week after scoring a hat-trick in the win at Tottenham.
James told The Sun: “I don’t think he’s needed a pick-me-up once. He is one of the most energetic guys.
“He knows his ability and why he is at Chelsea.
“As a striker, you go through spells when you don’t score or miss chances.
“He just has to keep working hard. That is what he’s done and he got his reward.
“I’m happy for him. It’s a huge confidence boost for anyone to get a hat-trick, especially against such a good side.”
On Manchester City, he added: “We know it’s going to be tough — City are an amazing side. “We need to prepare right and put in a good performance.
“Any result will show how well we have done.”
