Girona co-owner Pere Guardiola has quashed speculation that Chelsea are set to sign Girona star Artem Dovbyk this month.

The Ukrainian striker has hit 12 goals this season as Girona challenge with Real Madrid for the La Liga title.

“And we have no intention of selling to anyone either. The thing is that journalists really like the transfer window.

Chelsea have made signing a striker a priority this January but Guardiola doesn’t expect to lose his striker to Chelsea.

Guardiola added: “What we want is for nothing to happen or minimal to happen in January.”
