Man United helping deflect attention away Chelsea shame this season – David Seaman says
Former Arsenal goalkeeper, David Seaman has claimed that Chelsea are the most underperforming team in the Premier League this season, and the only reason people are not talking about the Blues enough is because Manchester United are helping deflect attention away from them with their own poor form.
Seaman made the claim while speaking on his podcast, ‘Seaman Says’.
According to him, the Blues have spent so much money in the last three transfer windows, but it isn’t showing in the way they’ve played this season.
“Chelsea are getting away with murder because of what Manchester United are doing and the attention that Manchester United are getting,” the former goalkeeper said.
“For the amount of money Chelsea have spent, that’s my answer.”
Seaman is right to say that Chelsea have largely underwhelmed this season, but he clearly failed to add that the Blues have gone through most of the season without their key players, who have all been out with one injury or another.
The club has spent money, but have they really had their best players fit for up to one month since the season began?
