Man Utd boss Ten Hag opens up about Viktor Lindeloff after yesterdays win and heres what he said
Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag was pleased with their fighting spirit for victory over Luton.
Victor Lindelof scored for the 1-0 win on the day.
Ten Hag said, “Of course, we are pleased with the win. We could have made life easier if we had scored earlier on. We created a lot of chances but it takes a long time to score for the first time and we couldn’t get the second. It’s always difficult when you get to the end and the opponent smells it, and one ball in the box can change the result of the game. So we had to fight to the end and so compliment to the team.
“I think, in two halves, we created seven or eight very good chances, which we didn’t net, or we did once. But, in the end, it was a fight and a battle, so don’t concede a goal. You know a team can always make, for one moment, one goal, even if it would not then not have been deserved by Luton. They worked hard but I think we controlled and dictated the game.
“[The finish?] Very good. He played a very good, Lindelof, with his partner in the centre-half position, Harry Maguire. Also, Scott McTominay in front. It was important for Victor to play such a good game and to score a goal.”
