Manchester United fans respond to Mason Mount message after win v Luton
Mason Mount was a first half substitute as Manchester United earned a narrow 1-0 win over Luton Town.
It was not easy, and it never is with Manchester United this season. The win was an always welcome three points courtes
Mason Mount made a valuable contribution towards the victory, coming off the bench to replace an injured Christian Eriksen, and he had one of his better games in a Manchester United shirt so far.
While he was unable to get on the scoresheet himself, Mount’s energy and desire to push the team forward was clear to see. It was important for Mount to be involved in a win as his start at Old Trafford has been a slow-burner.
Mason Mount fired up for more
Mason Mount was in good spirits after helping Manchester United to earn all three points in front of the fans at Old Trafford. The summer signing is desperate to impress and his opportunities have been surprisingly limited in recent weeks.
Mount sent a message out on Instagram after the win, writing: “We keep building, see you after the break Reds!”
His efforts were appreciated, with Manchester United supporters responding to his message to show him some support.
One fan wrote: “Great game exactly the energy we needed in midfield,” with another adding: “Great performance when you came on.”
More supporters showed their admiration, with one response saying: “Every game you’re getting better and better.”
Another said: “Played well there Mason. Made a big difference with your quick thinking and passing.”
Other messages included: “Much better today keep going,” and “Mase, you did a great job, and you performed very well! Looking forward to the next victory.”
Another even wrote: “Best player on the field today by a mile,” with a further message of encouragement reading: “Keep the faith and keep the spirit going.”
Mason Mount and Manchester United are building
On a week to week basis it has been a slog for Manchester United. Each individual game has been hard to watch, with the team finding it so difficult to score goals in the Premier League.
But when you look at what United have done recently, there’s a lot to admire, considering the challenges Erik ten Hag’s team have faced.
United have won four of the last five matches, more than any team in the Premier League have managed over the same timeframe.
Mason Mount is gradually finding his way into a role. Erik ten Hag admitted it has not been easy for the midfielder, who suffered an injury in the first month of the season.
Like United as a team, he is building, and Mount will have his eye on a big upcoming fixture against former club Chelsea in early December.
