Mauricio Pochettino’s revelation unsettles Chelsea fans once more
Mauricio Pochettino’s press conference last night had some pretty interesting comments about Christopher Nkunku.
Earlier in the week he had said the Frenchman had “issues” and would only be on the bench for last night’s game.
In the end he wasn’t even on the bench, and after the game Pochettino admitted that the attacker had a hip problem picked up in training.
“He wasn’t involved because he suffered after training a problem in his hip and we need to see if he can be ready for the next few games,” the Chelsea manager explained, triggering widespread dismay all around. Just what is going on in training these days?
It’s just devastating news for fans who just want their players fit and on the pitch. Pochettino doesn’t help himself with his bizarre decisions like bringing on Conor Gallagher in the latter stages last night.
Chelsea looked back to their stultifying worst against lower league opponents last night, and in desperate need of Nkunku’s creativity and goals. If he’s out for a while again, we just can’t imagine how the reaction will look online.
