Mauricio Pochettino hails Chelsea star for David Beckham goal style
Mauricio Pochettino was pleased to see Raheem Sterling score from a set-piece on Saturday evening.
Sterling netted Chelsea’s third goal during their 4-0 FA Cup third round win against Preston North End.
It was the second time the 29-year-old would be scoring from a free-kick this season, following a similar strike in Chelsea’s 4-1 defeat to Newcastle last year.
Pochettino said: “I told him after game David Beckham is shaking because you are going to get his record!
“That is the quality. You can practice all day every day, but after it is about taking the free-kick and scoring. We practice but it is not special practice for him.
“That is about his quality. He scored today and against Newcastle. It’s about the capacity to believe and of course his quality.”
