SAD: Armando Broja posts one-word message on Instagram after being left off Chelsea’s pre-season tour.

Armando Broja is unfortunately not part of the Chelsea squad that has jetted off for the pre-season tour this summer.

The Blues confirmed yesterday that they have taken a strong 29-man squad for their tour of the United States, where they have scheduled five friendly matches.

Armando Broja, 21, is missing from the touring party, despite the fact he’s been training with the group at Cobham for the past fortnight.

The Chelsea centre-forward is still recovering from a long-term injury problem, so it sounds like the club are being quite cautious with his recovery process.

Chelsea confirmed on their official website that Broja is among four first-team players missing from Mauricio Pochettino’s squad.

The club posted: “Wesley Fofana has also not travelled due to a knee injury, which is currently being assessed. Marcus Bettinelli, Benoit Badiashile and Armando Broja will too remain at Cobham as they continue their respective recoveries from injury.”

Hopefully, we get to see Broja fit and firing by the time the Premier League returns in just under a month. Incidentally, we begin our league campaign at home to rivals Liverpool.

He’s reacted to his own squad omission with a one-word message on his Instagram story.

“Patience,” the Chelsea striker said.

We’re extremely eager to watch on the young attacker back on the pitch, but he’s right to acknowledge now is not the time to rush his comeback. We certainly believe that Broja could be a surprise package of the 2023/24 season, especially if Chelsea don’t bring in another forward before the summer window closes.
