Sevilla formally proposes a deal for Chelsea striker, as confirmed by Fabrizio Romano

Chelsea’s loans have been pretty dire this season, with some poorly chosen destinations leading to some disappointing seasons for many of the players we’re trying to improve.

David Datro Fofana has certainly been one of those – he’s really struggled at Union Berlin, who themselves have had a disaster campaign.

So perhaps it’s not surprise to see rumours about a change of destination – Fabrizio Romano has just Tweeted that Sevilla are about to make a “formal, official proposal” to get Fofana in to strengthen their struggling squad.

Romano isn’t clear that the move is a loan, but we can’t see it being a permanent move, for a number of reasons.

What’s strange about it is that Fofana has finally managed to string a few games together in Berlin under their new coach, and feels like he may be about to turn a corner. Is a change of situation really in his best interests now.
