Todd Boehly; You need to getting used to Marc Cucurella at Chelsea, he will not be sold anytime soon.
Chelsea fans have been tipped off by Boehly and he said that if you do not like Cucurella you will need to start getting used to seeing him around as he is not going anywhere sooner.
Chelsea is not looking to sell the defender anytime soon and the enthusiasm from fans that he could be laid off sooner is going to the breeze sooner than they had expected.
Fabrizio Romano’s exclusive column for Caughtoffside reveals similar information:
“Marc Cucurella signed just eight months ago, it was a difficult year, not just for the player, but all the squad, the staff, the board, and the manager. Cucurella is fully focused on Chelsea, for sure. Chilwell is an important part of the project because the Blues want two players per position as all the top clubs do.”
So we’re just going to have to suck it up and get used to having Cucurella around now. That money is spent, and we’re better off hoping he improves than hoping someone comes in and tries to buy him.
If Ben Chilwell can stay injury free next year we will see a lot less of the former Brighton man, but it does leave some worrying question marks about Ian Maatsen, the academy product who has torn up the Championship with Burnley and would have been the perfect choice to back up.
