Just today The Athletic have a really interesting long read on Madueke’s rise to the top where they explore what he might be good at – and where the problems will come in.

The first part is an excellent illustrated summary of his strengths – but where does he fall down?

They identify his recent injury history as “by far the biggest risk for Chelsea, particularly on a contract that runs into the next decade.”

They point out that he has missed 43 games for PSV in the last two years.

Given we’ve just signed Wesley Fofana to go with our already worryingly injury prone Reece James, Ben Chilwell, N’golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic… it’s certainly a gamble.

Let’s hope he is able to put the problems behind him.
