It was said that the Pochettino personally requested the 22-year-old’s arrival at Stamford Bridge as he aimed to increase midfield depth in west London, leaving many to wonder if Todd Boehly’s reluctance to rival PSG would upset the South American tactician.

However, it sounds as if the 51-year-old took the decision well.
Romano said: “Mauricio Pochettino was always involved in conversations with the Chelsea board over Manuel Ugarte. When Chelsea told him they were pulling him out, he was like: “Okay, he’s a great player, but we don’t want to enter into any crazy proposals with players.” Pochettino suggested not doing madness.”
Chelsea have since moved on.
