Here is the real reason Chelsea will sell up to 13 players in the summer and its not money; Todd Boehly reveals.

Our plans to sell upto 14 players by the summer has nothing to do with money nor anything like that but as a result of things bigger than money and here is why.

At the moment there are too many miserable faces being left out of the team, left off the bench or out of the Champions League squad entirely. As Melchiot says, it doesn’t help them and it doesn’t help Chelsea.

You can only put 11 players on the pitch in any case, so the bloated squad is doing far more harm than good. The sooner the unwanted and unhappy players are moved on, the sooner this team can actually start moving back towards being a functional organisation again.
