‘Wage reductions’ Chelsea players are about to pay the price for slipping out of the UCL place in the EPL table
‘Wage reductions’ Chelsea players are about to pay the price for slipping out of the UCL place in the EPL table.
After Chelsea have lost out of the UEFA Champions League to Real Madrid yesterday to the tune of 4:0 in the first and second leg now they are about to face the consequences.
Also loosing out of the Champions league places in the EPL table sitting at 11th position in the EPL table they are looking more to drop lower in the table and hopefully they do not get into the relegation one before the league ends.
After the match yesterday, the players were gutted, and maybe some of them now are going to be concerned about having their wages deducted!
Because according to The Telegraph, there will be wage reductions of up to 30% for some players due to Chelsea not qualifying.
The new owners introduced a new bonus system after buying Chelsea from Roman Abramovich. A number of players who joined Chelsea or who have signed new contracts since the takeover agreed to a variable salary scheme that saw a portion of their wages, as much as 30 per cent in some cases, tied to Champions League qualification.
