The wait is officially over for everyone waiting to see if the Chelsea attacking force when complete can be as formidable as we think they might be and with the rejoining of Joao Felix we can only hope for a win this time.
Kai Havertz has led the line in most games since then, but that seems more a reflection of the lack of options that any real belief from Potter that the German is going to score the goals we need.
That’s why the return of Joao Felix for Saturday’s game is so interesting. It will give Potter the potential to use the Portuguese striker up top as a “false 9,” supported by whichever of Raheem Sterling, Mykhailo Mudryk or Noni Madueke he feels like.
Attempts to use Sterling leading the line earlier this season weren’t a great success. Maybe the Felix experiment will go better.
