N’Golo Kante could make a move for the Spanish La Liga side once fully back from injury
Kante may not be spending the rest of his time at Chelsea as he has made a serious contact with Laliga side and it is looking all shades of good for him and a move could be imminent.
The midfielder has missed almost all of this season injured, continuing a run of fitness issues that has destroyed a couple of consecutive campaigns now.
There aren’t many noises about renewing his deal – perhaps unsurprisingly given he’s unable to get onto the pitch, and isn’t expected back for at least another month.
He can freely negotiate with foreign clubs now he’s into the last 6 months of his deal, and today’s Mundo Deportivo hint that Atletico Madrid are keen to sign the World Cup winner.
It will be interesting to see what Graham Potter (who has yet to have the midfielder available for a single one of his games in charge) wants to do, as it feels like a natural time to move on from a brilliant player whose body is starting to fail him.
On the other hand, letting a player that good walk away always feels difficult.
