Will they start? Potter gives update on James, Chilwell and Mudryk’s chances of starting against Liverpool and here is what he said.

Chelsea will not be looking to see the old players in the pitch today the likes of Sterling, Ben Chiwell, and Reece James as they still suffer tremendously from their injuries and also they slated return date is still kind of far.

The Chelsea boss says that both Reece James and Ben Chilwell won’t appear this weekend – as we suspected – and instead will have the chance to train for another couple of weeks before our next game against Fulham. That seems very sensible.

Then there’s Mykhailo Mudryk. Chelsea fans are desperate to see him make his debut, but as Potter says, he “hasn’t played so much football recently” so he will have “a role” but isn’t going to be playing 90 minutes (or starting the game at all, we suspect).

Ruben Loftus-Cheek sounds ready to go however, and we could see him at right wing back if Potter decides to switch to a back 5 setup.

Whatever happens, new options are available and many more will be available when we play Fulham in two weeks. That can only be a good thing.
