Chelsea are going to recall another player from loan this season, according to journalist, Fabrizio Romano.

The Blues, this week, announced the return of Andrey Santos from his loan spell at Nottingham Forest.

The 19-year-old struggled to play at the Premier League outfit, despite initial assurances he would get regular game time.

Santos has been training with his Chelsea teammates since he returned to Stamford Bridge, and is expected to be loaned out again for the remainder of the season.

David Datro Fofana is another Chelsea player, who has struggled to make an impact during his loan move.

The Ivorian was loaned out to German club, Union Berlin last summer, but a series of issues, including a falling out with his former manager, have hampered his development.

To be fair, Fofana has played far more regularly than Santos, having made 12 appearances for the Bundesliga club, with just a goal to show for it.

Romano has now reported that Chelsea plan to recall the 21-year-old, and then loan him out to another club for the remainder of the campaign.

He wrote on ‘X’: “Understand after Andrey Santos, Chelsea are also prepared to recall David Datro Fofana from loan deal at Union Berlin.

“Internal discussion taking place but Fofana is expected to return and leave again.”

It’s been reported that La Liga club, Sevilla are interested in a loan deal for Fofana.
